In a famous book about the speculative markets an old-time trader advises: "It's a bull market, ya know." He said it like he was telling the greatest truth ever. Point is, you mess with--like short--a strong bull market and you get hurt.
Richard Dennis is famous for both making a fortune trading commodities as well as teaching a few people his methods. His students are called The Turtles. One time Dennis was asked what is the most common mistake most people make when they try to trade commodities and he replied: "Make sense of the markets."
Of course Dennis is a technician/chartist. Expect several in this group know of him.
