The linkage effect. Europe has been slowing. We are China's largest consumer & we are slowing...but China picking up our trade balance & in effect we are borrowing more from them and are returning checks to our citizens so we can buy more stuff from china & so china can continue to loan us money to buy more and more stuff & in this process of linkage....there is the thought the dollar may now become, temporarily, a stronger currency....in other words may lose less real value in the short run & disguising itself as strong. Make any sense to a logical person? No. But that is where we are. Or, maybe not. I am not sure anyone knows. They think they know. I recall some idiom of years past...the intelligent person is the person who knows he does not know. The rest, don't know, or won't admit what they don't know. I've had a long day. I think you younger fellows would be wise to consider learning their language...however I think it contains 2,600 characters.
