Oklahoma | Sounds like a heck of a deal and good neighbors. I can remember my dad offering that to a neighbor (who ran cattle) where we provided the dozer work and labor if they would furnish materials, Neighbor said "Nah, you guys do all that and pitch in 1/2 for the materials and I will think about it". That fence never got replaced. That same neighbor wants to borrow every piece of equipment you have and it always comes back needing work.
For what its worth when I bought my place I only had one neighbor who ran livestock and the other two had other non-ag uses (do nothing). My place was fenced with barbed wire and I needed woven wire for the kids sheep. The neighbor with livestock offered the help of labor and one non-ag neighbor offered the use of his tractor. Good neighbors are worth more than words can say at times. My other non-ag neighbor I would like to have leave. | |
