Subject: RE: Are there many farm markets in your area?

Orange County NY
Farm markets are a big deal around here. There is about 6 of them around the county. We have 8,000 ac. of black dirt (muck) here in Orange co. The local growers love the idea of selling close to home instead of packing a truck and spending all day in NYC. You can get anything from local wine to local corn and anything else you can think of. They draw a big crowd on a nice day.

We milk cows on upland so we don`t get involved much unless we stop for seet corn. $4/doz. We know some of the veg. growers and when you see them at the market they are all smiles with a pocket full of cash.
