E.Central MN | Unfortunately there are animals, especially cows that injure their hip or leg and are otherwise healthy animals but current rules make it hard to get that animal processed for meat. In the smaller USDA inspected processing plants the animal must be able to walk into the plant or the inspector will condemn the animal. People are so far removed from actual production of their food that even under ideal conditions the average consumer would be appalled if they saw a video of a meat processing plant in operation. | |
