I've been told work horse type of hybrids like N early and the race horse likes it later. With that in mind, I've been comparing plots and more often than not it holds true. Last year I put 50 gallons N on with the planter for a work horse and it yielded within 3 bushels of the race horse which won the plot and for our area it was a race horse type of year. I have the same scenario this year.
