I suspect your intuition on leadership, or lack thereof, is incredibly accurate.
As I was reading your comment, another thought passed through my mind that may explain Congress and Exec stampede to $150B "stimulus" spending. "Stimulus" money should be arriving in voter's mailboxes shortly before next big election. Maybe that's modern definition of Leadership? Someone needs to do study to determine how many votes that $150B "stimulus" will buy. |
