Subject: Possible Raise of Daily Corn Limits

I heard of rumor that they are thinking of raising the daily trading limit on corn to 80 cents. Can you imagine what this will do to the basis levels? The Illinois Farm Bureau sent a letter to the CTFC strongly opposing this. The speculative futures markets are not what people are truly willing to pay for the commodities, and the high futures levels are giving many people a false perception of what is actually being paid for grain.

What kind of market are we in where someone thinks this kind of an insane limit is necessary?
