Subject: Re: Buyers Premium auctions - those that don't go?

It's different in real estate, but I wouldn't go to a buyer's premium machinery sale.

The auctioneer represents the seller, _not_ the buyer.

As such the seller should do the paying, not the buyer. As a buyer I have nothing to gain from the auctioneer, he isn't working for me, he doesn't try to keep the bid down for me.... He works for the seller.

There is a difference in that. I should not have to go through all sorts of calculations on top of it.

Haven't actually seen a farm machinery auction that did a bp - I think I'm in a hard core German area & they are not well recieved here. I'm not the only one who feels this way. :) Saw a few ads for industrial equip & such that were, & real estate is a different animal with comissions, fees, or bp - that all seems to come out in the wash whatever they call it. But not farm machinery.
