Subject: RE: controlling flys around the outside of your house

We have a small flock of chickens which vigulantly patrol the yard, such as it is, and do a great job. Get more than about 10 and the situation goes the other way. If you can control the breeding situation about 1/4 bantie (sp) is best. More than that they spend all their time fighting and hiding eggs. Interesting but not productive, They get the flies, mosquitoes and ear wigs. We just feed them some whole wheat saved from harvest most of the year. They do get some fancy store bought stuff in the winter. One draw back is I have seen one of my girls run 100 yards to poop on the sidewalk. Thanks a lot.

Free insect control, entertainment and real eggs. Not the pale yellow runny things that are in the store. Of course Fido will need a couple of lessons in not chasing the chickens out of his yard.

Good Luck
