A few observations which basically makes me lean to your "propoganda" suggestion. I don't care which mfg would've conducted the test, I would've been suspicious. Would they have published results if they lost in every category? That would've been quite some Press Release! I don't know if Cat (is that what they are? Not sure) specs have been updated or not, but all the competitors used tractors are now out of production. I think the JD & CNH tractors have gone to 9.0L engines. I'd think that increase would push them past the Cat performance. I was surprised at the relatively small differences in gph or A/per hr reported. Again, I'm betting the PRESENT production models of CNH (MX & TG) & JD would nullify those differences. Again-not familiar w/Cat. Maybe they've changed models/engines since test? Not sure I understand their "road test". We've had all 3 tractors, MX, TG, and 8420. They all ran about 5-6 mph faster than they show in tests. Or-maybe I misunderstand test. Though, from what I understand, I'd expect anyone's CVT to be more efficient "roading" since it can throttle back & maintain speed.
