Subject: RE: Full straw load.

Hi Garth. We've done a few full load trials here too. It works good on a clean field, but i noticed a herbicide problem on a few others. I like the full load idea, but I guess I need to study it more and see if I need to change the chemical programs accordingly.

A few years ago I had a bit of free time so I went and put down a 20 ton/acre load of straw and then flailed it a few times and deep plowed it under in the fall. I did it on a very small spot of Amity soil. Wow did it make a difference. For the next 2 years you could see right the line where I put the mulch in. The crops were greener and healthier.
