Ilderton, Ontario | and I'll add this. We grow wheat, so we have the tool to grow 7.5 beans. We leave trams for any subsequent trips for aphids/ rust/weed control. If we were in a corn /bean rotation, the decision would be harder, but would probably fall into 15's.
We haven't seen white mould issues (knock on wood), since more no-till is being used. I think tillage aggrevates the mould problem.
As far as seeding rates go we are also lowering our rates. this was likely brought on more by RR technology and the desire to lower cost/acre, but we haven't noticed any yield reduction, and perhaps have increased our mould control. For our 7.5 beans, if we drop between 150-180K we are happy. with a JD drill, this is as tight a range as you can target.
