Hmmm all knowing Extension. Ask your office how mucvh corn they grow. You have to remember that they are paid by you and should do what you ask of them. I would think that under times of stress you would want to find out what is in the plants because that is when they need the most help. I started tissue testing this year and it sure opened my eyes to what is going on inside the plant.. I got some back on our cabbage and after 57 yeats of the farm growing cabbage you would think we would know what fertilizer to use..... wrong. Below normal on K,Mg. Ca. Mn and low on Zn. Cu. This is with a soil test of Very High in K and putting 150lbs of actual K pre plant. I seem to remember something about low Mg. also can mean low K in the plant. I need to study alot more........anyone have a website to help us currious farmer out? John
