I know that everybody says that you need to do this and you need to do that but only you know what feels right. I know a very succesful farmer/neighbor of mine that never contracts grain and only markets what is in the bin after harvest. Many here have stated that when it is all said and done they have probably only came out "even" after the fact and have put themselves through a whole lot of stress during the process. I think if the farmer concentrates on what they know how to do (grow the grain) and then work on obtaining the best price for that grain after harvest, it would make life a lot simpler. Maybe I'm being stupid but when you can't figure these markets out why try to become today's marketing guru! | |
