30", 15", 7 1/2" beans all "look good" this year here. They are all fully canopied now but we have had perfect bean weather this year, so far. During drought years the 30" beans in this area almost never fully canopy, but 15" and 7 1/2" beans do. In those drought years we always had higher yield with 15" or 7 1/2" beans than we did with 30" beans. For that reason, we no longer grow 30" beans. Many of our neighbors do grow 30" beans and they say they get 50 bushels, every year. That's more than we get every year so maybe we were doing something else wrong when we were planting 30" beans.
