NC IA | I've wondered this exact same thing.
Like previously mentioned, the majority are taking in a lot of corn right now that was contracted long ago for 3.50 and under. Plenty under 3.00 I'd even wager. You just don't hear people bragging about those sales.
But now they have to antie up to this 4+ corn, I can't see them staying in the black definately at 5+. They will simply "temporary shut-down." The traders in the pits will not like to hear those words.
The bulls forecasting 6+ corn (I even read a 9.00 corn prediction somewhere lately), you can hang on but I am getting off the bus.
All Big Oil has to do is get crude back in the 60-70 dollar range and the days of farmer-investor-owned Ethonal plants will be in the history books.
