Your postings are on track. This comment is just a small item in this post. You'd said "...our built in goodness that gives us the desire to help others instead of only thinking selfishly of ourselves."
Unfortunately, we don't have any goodness built in. It's all taught, mostly by our parents. Our natural inclination is much more brutal and self-serving. Thank those who taught us for the thin veneer of civility that allows us to function as decent individuals.
As we say in Texas, "Your momma brought you up right." And you rightly point out the amazing number of those individuals on this site. Thanks.
