Subject: RE:market gurus

I freely admit that I do not know near as much about marketing as I should. Our marketing is pretty much seat of the pants.

We still have our 07 beans in the bin. Granted, they are not many bushels compared to most people here. But, they are our entire crop (wheat was zero because of the freeze) and we SHOULD have a detailed plan to sell. We are just going to wait and sell when the market goes down two days in a row (or some such foolishness) and hope that we have hit a pretty good price.

The really bad thing is that our seat of pants marketing over the last 5 years has been as good or better than the gurus. It could just be plain dumb luck, but it is fact. I am certainly not the first to observe this, but if the gurus really knew as much as they pretend, then they would be so rich following their own advice that they would own chains of islands in the Caribbean.
