A book by Erich Maria Remarque (also wrote 'All Quiet on the Western Front' & several others about WWI).
Many, many years ago, a currency trader friend advised me to read this book about a small German village & the inhabitants in dealing with the Infamous German Inflation folowing WWI. Informative about the practical strategies & 'the effects upon the personalities of folks' by every day citizens & contains some tragedy, some humor & the activities of a dealer in tombstones. I of course loaned my copy to someone years ago & no longer have it in my library.
The book, a fictional work, follows the daily lives of folks caught up in the hyper-inflation -based upon true events of course. | |
