northwest tennessee | Corn does have an impact on the selling of cows. People get scared when corn gets high because it takes corn to finish these cattle out when they hit the west. At some point cattle will have to go up or either the feeders will have to pay less for them in the beginning. That is what scares people. They have drought and other factors including grain price and they see cattle getting too cheap to own in the future so they sell. There is an inverse relationship in the price of grain and cattle most of the time. I dont know that it has kicked in yet and hope it doesnt but it could. | |
