What kind of setup do you use to work the 500 lbs Roy?

Since we got the newer Chute years ago now we can rope tie a leg and reach in through the side with the burdizzos and pinch (Dad is against cutting and I can't change his mind, we are all to softys to use the band method). It still isn't fool proof and it is far from user or calf reciever friendly to do.

When I was a kid we would lariet the calves and tie them into a corner. Pop would hold them over and pull the nut down while I ran the burdizzos and got the piss kicked out of me.

I have never had any much desire to mess with them past thier spring working weight when we run them before going to grass.

Something about getting the hell kicked out of ya as a kid you just never forget what them legs can do. I know you can relate.

After helping my buddy run all his calves this past spring I am sold on the knife treatment. It's fast and it's definite and you know you got them. The burdizzo's are fine till you miss one. It sours the entire idea.
