Subject: RE: feeder cattle receiving procedure

Alma NE
We receive our cattle usually the night of the sale or next morning then work them in the afternoon
get 3 shots ,pour on ,implants ,brand ,take the tips of the horns if they have any and
de nutted if they have been missed (unless they are too big )
fed on a bale of good prarie hay from when they arrive and a mix of
whole corn, maize silage, ground hay ,some wet cake
last year out of just over 1400 hd we lost 4 calves
so far this year we have gotten in about 450 hd so far and already lost 4 hd
so i hope thats all we lose
these cattle are bought in from around 500 to 700 lbs
