I think that is true on about 50-70% of the cows. However there is the retiring farmer, the guy wanting to downsize, and cattle coming from guys who just can't handle feeding costs due to weather constraints. There are some darn nice cow/calf pairs that go the sale ring every week. Just need to be versed enough in cattle to judge which is good and which is bad.
