Dad instilled "Making A Profit" in me. He also taught me to Judge Cattle. "I" made a deal with the Local Auction Yard _ They let me Sort out Steers and I'D pay 1 cent over their LOT Price. My Cousin paid $1500 for her Steer _ At Fair Time I had $1387+- in TWO STEERS (Both PRIME) (One won Champion Steer) sold him and made good money (His Hide and Ribbons are ON the Sofa) _ The other Steer (Angus, won the Carcase Class) I sold 1/2 and put 1/2 in the Family Freezer.
To get the money to start I raised 15 ac of Hay _ Sold 1/2 and fed 1/2 to my stock _ Local Ranchers & 'Coastal Ford Tractor', and Seed Co's Helped me a lot
THANKS EVERYONE!

I bought 2 / 500#+ Steers at the Sale Yard - one Hereford and one Angus
(unknown to me at the time) the Hereford was the LAST of a Club Calf Breeders calves being dumped.
I always liked the Angus better BUT the Judge (a Hereford Breeder) picked the Hereford two win the show
