Mohawk Indiana | Winning isn't the main thing they want to do. Some good friends kids have been showing Dairy steers and we have been checking in to that but for about the same money I think that we could almost show beef heifers and bring them home after the fair breed them commercially and sell them as bred heifers and hold most of our money together. They will still be able to sell a pig for premium. Just thinking.
I know all about Jockeys and just want the kids to have some fun. I think it would be a step up to find out how much more work that a beef project is. $1000 is probably our top end but I didn't know if they ever sold for less than that. When I was their age some of my best friends were cows.
