Wallis, TX | Depends alot on where you are, the breed and the quality. We start at about $1000-1200 on a heifer that will compete, $2000-3000 on a good one, especially in some ot the more popular breeds, A really nice heifer may go from $5000 up to mid five figures. Ask around, you may be able to find some breeder that wants to get his genetics shown (winning will help him in the long run) and he may make you a sweet deal. Also ask if they guarantee the heifers to be breeders and if they will breed her when the time comes. Watch out for the steer jocks, there are some honest ones out there, but they are few and far between, most just want your $$$$! | |
