| We farrowed in what would be considered a hut style setup until about 98. They were grouped together though in a confined area on concrete with water and feed area common for each 5 sows. It was a self designed hut/house to attempt to meet the challenges of grouped sows and cold weather farrowing. We farrow every thing confined at this time.
Haven't demolished the old system yet but need to. If I was still using that system I would check on Niman Ranch program as some of our practices fit their cryteria I believe. | |
