Subject: RE: Where are the dairy farmers?

I'm from NE IA, right along hwy 20 45 +/- miles east of Waterloo. Just starting out milking 45 cows. Few reg. swiss and steins, some grade steins, and a handful of crossbreds. Milk in a dbl 3 herringbone with loose housing. We buy all our feed, we feed baleage, corn silage, and dry corn w/ protein and minerals. All AI breeding for longevity, and would like to get more into crossbreeding and rotational grazing. Having a hard time convincing myself to crossbreed my good holstein genetics.
