Actually it is easy to make a plot come out in your favor. Plant the competitor's hybrid with workhorse hybrids ond your racehorse hybrids against the competitor's. Then sidedress with N and I'll almost guarantee your hybrid will win the test. Then reverse the whole proceedure and preplant the N.You win again.
The only way to read the plot results with any accuracy at all is to know the characterists of the hybrids along with the knowledge of how the N was applied. Really good salesmen will know how you apply your N and direct you accordingly in seed selection.
Just one of the very valuable ideas that I picked up at the National NoTillage Conference about 15 years ago. One idea alone that has more than paid the cost of attending the conference for a lifetime.
