Subject: Japanese Beetle Spread

Japanese beetles weren't nearly as bad around here this summer as in the past. I'm guessing that the excessively dry weather had something to do with the reduction in numbers.

Was wondering where and when they were actually introduced into the US. Take a look at this out dated spread map in this link:

Unless they had problems swimming the mighty Mississippi I'd guess that those of you located in the midwest ought to have seen them by now.
