That would of course depend on Which liquid calcium product you were talking about. The better ones are better than using Pell Lime from a quick fix situation. Usually will alter the top 2-3 inches of soil if applied over the top. That's where it matters most. And will hold that pH oftentimes for beyond 90 days. That's when it is most important.

It is a quick fix, not a substitute for a good liming program. As I said, depends on whose product you are looking at.
