| One of my dumber/humbling moments occurred during bean harvest this fall. I was cutting along a highway (the first pass in the field adjoining the road) when I heard something enter the feederhouse. About as fast as I processed this( at least it seemed real fast), my entire combine died. I looked in the rock trap and saw a full sized pick-up tire w/o the rim. How did I not see that???? My only defense is that I know I didn't put the tire there and hadn't run into that type of field debris before. I am just glad the rest of the truck wasn't with it. | |
