Texas/New Mexico Stateline
The highest I have ever paid for milo seed was of course Pioneer last spring. Paid $133 for a 50lb bag. Had the herbicide safened and Cruiser on it. Cruiser or Gaucho adds about $60 to a bag. BUT I only plant 25,000-30,000 per acre so I can stretch a bag over 25 acres. (we don't get much rain out here) I am thinking about upping the pop to about 35,000 next year. I think milo can make more bushels with less rain than almost any other crop. I can't think of anything else that might do more. Maybe sunflowers?
