| All right, my old 84 Neckover is getting tired. The axles and tires and gooseneck is good, as is the floor, but the rest of it, not so much. The pipes are rusted out where they attach to the rear gate, the channels are rusting though in the floor in the flats, (the floor runs crossways). I've already patched the sides down low and the fender area is rusted through bad now. If I started patching I honestly don't know where I'd stop. I'm only hauling my own cattle, and my Dad's. Got about 100 head of momma cows and feeding out them plus starting to add some feeders. Auction barns are around 30-40 miles one way.
Looking at a 7x20 Corn Pro steel at $7250. Treated floor.
7X20 Travalong at $7750.(It has the Galvanized sides, which I like.) Wood Floor.
7x20 Travalong aluminum at $12,000.
The Aluminum Travalong has the slam latches, which I like. Not sure about the steel. The Corn Pro has kind of a Mickey Mouse latch setup, unless they changed it. I'm gonna go look at one.
I suppose my other option is to take the axles and gooseneck off of my current trailer and start over, but I don't think I'm gonna have time for that option, although the Travalong wouldn't be hard to copy, nor the Corn Pro for that matter. Maybe I'll price steel and see when I can lay by a week.
Thanks for any input.
Oh, one other option might be to try to find a good used 30-32? foot ground load to go on the Semi. I wouldn't be totally opposed to that but have absolutely no idea where to look. I've heard of them on sales CHEAP but I've never personally been to one.
