Goff Kansas | i think one must seriously consider selling a little at the contract high of dec 08', as you did. Congrats. getting the extra 40-50 cents this yr. may be a little harder than last.. we are starting from a much higher level than last, and alot more carryout than last... on the other side, these outside markets are influencing commodities much more this yr.. does crude have a near term top, will the dollar stop declining. my plan.. we sold some at 4.25 also, and will try to protect them with some call options on a pull back if it is allowed, prob around 4 to 4.10. will be a very hard seller at 4.50 on this yr., and prob the next couple through the 08' contacts. it seems to me, the domestic end user does not make much money in the 4's, and that will be reflected eventually. we can't export everything.. people say to not contract out too far, i.e. 09, 10, you don't know what your costs will be.. what scares me, is the costs, and price of corn back to around 2.50... | |
