Central IL | when they are paying me more now than what I thought was a good price when I sold early. I sold early to get what I thought was a good price I could make a profit on. Had I not sold and harvest prices were below where I could make a profit, then I would be mad.
Didn't get all I could for beans I sold early this year, harvest is well over $1 above many contracts. They were still a profit. The ones I have in storage as well as what I sold after harvest uncontracted were a better profit.
As soon as I quit selling some early at profitable prices is when harvest prices will go back in the tank at harvest instead of setting yearly highs.
I expect to sell some wheat and corn soon for next years production.
I hope I'm dissapointed (not mad) about higher harvest prices again next year.
Are you sure you're not just disappointed you left some on the table? Or are you really mad that you weren't greedy? Or are you mad prices are higher? Would you feel better or be less mad if corn was $2.50 It's easy to look back now, it was sure a lot harder to see forward back then.
Agree? Don't worry, my stomach is familar with the turmoil. Sellers remorse.
