for what it is worth, our marketing advisors reference some study into which in the corn belt, guys will continue with corn. siting the economics of it, (better income) and 3rd yr corn does better, and yes, farmers like to grow corn.. makes us feel better.. for us, our corn avg is around 90 - 120 this yr., while the beans are a solid 40-45. that can be a reliable avg. around here, but i must admit, with the right weather corn can go another 50 higher with ease.. but those economics favor beans if you are conservative, and corn if you are a risk taker.. i am to wet behind the ears, and my banker does not like me enough to be an even more risk taker than i am..
