Mid Michigan | Drive through there and you don't see 15 deer standing in every field like you do in Michigan either! Or even a tree, or a fence row, rock pile. A friend of mine still owns his family farm down near Champaign Illinois. It is a 640 acre section. He says he hasn't driven by it in over 10 years because it is just a square in the middle of nowhere. He just gets his rent check every year and cashes it and pays the taxes. I will have to ask him if he was aware of these outragous land rental rates going on down in his old stomping grounds! Maybe he is, he always seems to be pretty happy. | |
