Mid Michigan | I finally got some pics of the wheat we flew on about a month ago. I got some as dad was combining in the old gleaner K. We put on 3 bushel to the acre and it was thin at first because it was pretty dry. After dad combined and all that chaff got spread on there it also started to rain and now it has come in very thick. It looks more like a sod field than a wheat field. I took the last pics about a week ago and it has rained a couple of inches since the last pics. It is raining very hard tonight here in mid michigan. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this will be a success. The pics really don't do it justice. I will try to snap a few more before the snow starts flying. The beans ran very clean and weed free and came out to 30 bushels to the acre. This year was about the driest year I can remember and last year was about the wettest. Last year they ran exactly 30 bushel to the acre in the wet stuff. These are planted in 30 inch rows. Planted about 172,000 seeds per acre. We used Vigaro roundup ready beans. Next year we may try a few doubled up rows to see if it has a worthwhile affect on yield.
