In years past Texas Growers have donated hay, and truckers have donated transportation for hard hit livestock owners.
I would not think anyone would be really interested in much of the surplus hay, not in this part of Texas for this year. At best it might do as a filler.
I have two observations for you. First I make more and better hay in a dry year than in a wet year. Second is we have one wet year followed by two drought years.
Any hay that I might have surplus will be useful for my local customers during the next two years. I do not have any surplus hay, but I do have a few local cases to whom I donate hay to on a regular basis. | |
