I don't think I have ever seen stalks deteriorate so much in one week as they did this week. We felt pretty good last week, (except for the yields), but now, it sure seems the stalks are turning black. Was hoping to use natural air a bunch for drying, but we were told to stop any mold get it dried to 15% as quick as possible, so we'll turn the burners back on whenever it quits raining.
Ron Demers on KTIV said the other night 2007 is on track for 2nd wettest year ever. Pretty flipping hard to believe considering we had 1" 4/28 to 8/1. If I wanted weather like this I'd move to Seattle. | |
