| Interesting discussion. Just some quick thoughts. Beef has always been a luxury item as compared to pork or chicken. We sell freezer beef too, but unlike most of you, we will sell by the 1/4. So far we have not had anybody not buy from us. But most prefer the taste of our beef verus what they can buy at the store and that they know where it comes from and how it was fed. I have said for some time that the consumer can only afford to pay some much for beef.....and we may soon be at the point where they can no longer afford it from what I am reading on this thread. But I've been told on another forum that I am a pain in the butt to beef guys because I am a dairy farmer(and that beef guys hate dairy guys guts and to never drive in KS as pickup will get shot up).....never mind that I also have a herd of beef cows......so what do I know. | |
