Subject: Re: Prolific and good mothering sows?????

east central iowa
when i farrowed the most prolific sow was a chester york cross bred to a duroc. that chest cross sow would breed easy and wean 10+ pigs but her longivity of 8+ litters was incredible. the problem was they were a little to fat for the packers but if you had outside lots to finish on they were great. the breeder in iowa that made chester york crosses is still there and sells gilts. good luck
