E.Central MN | The same thing is true for a lot of professions. The US needs less engineers than we did 20 years ago, less bankers, and a whole lot less middle mgmt people to fill desks and collect information. However, there is still a great need for high quality engineers, bankers, and ag professionals. All of those professions are continuing to evolve with technology. Certainly farms are getting bigger as they are able to operate more acres with less man power. But that doesn' lessen the importance of ag managment skills, it increases it due to the increased financial risk that is involved. It may be easier today to just google your next meal and have it delivered to your door, but someone still has to grow it first. | |
