Faunsdale, AL
BRSV is a bad deal. I diagnosed it here using 4X titer increases, so I'm sure that is what it was. Had it in the early winter when the weather was unsettled. Anti-inflammatories and steroids along with the antibiotic seem to help as much as the antibiotic. At that point the AB is just for the secondary invaders. The lung reaction to the virus/inflammation is what kills them.

I have been using Enforce 3 for a year now and I think we're doing better than when we were using the Bovashield Gold FP 5-L5. Fewer antigens, less fever/stress and no BVD. I hit them with BVD later when things are going well. These are weaned dairy calves. The Enforce challenge studies they did protected all the vaccinated calves and all the control calves died, so it's most likely a good vaccine. I also like the quick onset of protection from a nasal vaccine. There is some general protection against whatever comes along just from using a product to stimulate a response on the upper airway mucosa.
