Subject: RE: Dreaming of a life without livestock.

South central IL
I have been living the dream since 2010 may 31st. That sunday morning was the last time I milked cows. I sold the herd and that was the day the guy that bought them picked up the last of them. I sold the last of my heifers 6 months later. It has been really great. It took a long time to get used to going in the house at 5 for supper because I was done for the day. It is really nice also to be able to go to the field with out doing 3 hours of milking and chores before I go and when I get home. I don't miss baling hay or straw either. Since then I bought a camper and go camping with my mom and dad and brothers and sisters. They all work somewhere else and dad and mom are retired.
I milked cows for 20 years as a owner and for ten years before that for my dad and uncle. I value that experience, but I do not miss it. Life is good.
