That is interesting on the calcium. We add white salt blocks and they really go after those. I do not know how much good they do. We add them to help out feet. Was told it may help with foot rot.
We normally give free range straw as a "scratch" but we are running low so giving some old hay that we had on hand yet. I will be interested to see if there is a difference.
