Chebanse, IL.....

New one on me EdW. RW larvae threshold?

What is the threshold count you use & what do you do about it after you discover that threshold has been reached? We've been dealing w/them a few yrs here but haven't run across a viable rescue yet. What would that be?

Granulars? Sure, they often work...not always, but often. Ask those that have used them for 20+ yrs if they've ever had an insecticide failure, even w/the granulars. I've really not heard of RW Bt failing, but I suppose someone can point out a circumstance somewhere. Refuge requirements have us using insecticde on 20% of our acreage, so we're comfortable w/what we have to work with. We know they'll fail...maybe in '08...maybe not. Handling thousands & thousands of pounds of skull & crossbone labelled products is not appetizing either...but we deal w/realism often over here.

I'm not suggesting anything for anyone else to use or not use. I don't have that license that allows you to make those suggestions. Really, I don't care if anyone uses Bt, non-bt or whatever. I'm just wondering why some are questioning successes of others? What business is it of theirs? Do they have an agenda...or just making a point?
