| I have done what you are proposing to do It is all good in theary but I have not yet proved it pays for all the inputs. I grid sampled in 2.5 acre grids brought my p& k levels to the higher end based on the soil samples , I also built the soils for projected yields for the next 2 years and after 2 years re applied based on crop removal with variable rate p&k after the 4th year I resampled the 2.5 grids in the exact points as 4 years prior, the results showed I needed alot of P&k does it pay? Idont know ? Why did I deplete the soil so much if I reapplied based on removal? THATS MY QUESTION I CANT FIGURE OUT. I like the idea and theary but I cant 100% justify everything yet. I will be resampling same practice on another 350 acres this fall hopefully It will make it all clear to me. By doing the grids and vrt It has balanced the yield from one end of the field to the other. | |
